EA-IRMS Training

Generic use of combustion techniques for nitrogen, carbon and sulfur isotope analysis, and pyrolysis techniques for oxygen and hydrogen isotope analysis.

Modules include: System physical overview, EA-IRMS set-up, configuration and tuning for optimum performance, developing  analysis routines, compilation of different sample types, instrument calibration and data evaluation, performance monitoring, maintenance, and basic trouble shooting. Requirements for high temperature analysis; modifying instrument configuration, use of the vario Liquid sampler (if requested).

GC-IRMS Training

Generic use of GC-IRMS techniques for carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and/or oxygen isotope analysis.

Modules include: System physical overview, GC-IRMS set-up, configuration and tuning for optimum performance, developing analysis routines, modifying instrument configuration, consideration of different sample types, instrument calibration and data evaluation, system optimisation, performance monitoring, maintenance, and basic trouble shooting.

The courses are fixed schedule, and follow a modular structure, including classroom lectures and practical laboratory training. They are ideal for customers who are new to IRMS and have limited experience of the technique.  Run by an experienced engineer at Isoprime House, Manchester
